About this project
BookAPI serves structured information about books over HTTP. The service is written in TypeScript and built on Hono, a lightweight framework designed for edge runtimes, and it runs as a Cloudflare Worker rather than a traditional Node server. Workers execute on V8 isolates instead of containers, so there's no cold start to absorb on the first request and calls are handled from whichever Cloudflare location sits closest to the caller. Distribution runs through RapidAPI, which fronts the service with key issuance, quota enforcement, and billing, leaving the Worker itself focused on resolving and returning book data.
